The Lion of Judah: A Kingdom of Meaning Revealed in Light

At first, you see the Lion of Judah. Then the light comes on, and an entire story begins to emerge from within it.

The lion comes from Jacob’s blessing and became a symbol of Judah, leadership, kingship and the House of David. At the top appears the Beit HaMikdash, almost like a crown, connecting Judah with Jerusalem and Jewish sacred history.

Within the lion is the kinnor associated with King David, adding music, prayer and the Psalms. At the heart of the lion lies the map of Eretz Israel, turning a symbol of power into a statement about people, land and belonging.

Around the central lion appear the names and symbols of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, reminding the viewer that Judah remains part of one larger family.

When the warm backlighting is switched on, the lion, tribal symbols, Temple, harp and Land of Israel emerge from the darker surface.

The Lion of Judah carries Jerusalem above him, the music of David within him, the Land of Israel in his heart, and his brothers around him.
