From Ramses to Mount Sinai: The Journey Written Into the Land

This is not one scene from the Exodus. It is an entire journey, mapped in color, symbols and memory.

The artwork follows the Children of Israel from Ramses toward Mount Sinai. Across the composition appear stations such as Ramses, Sukkot, Eitam, Marah, Elim, Rephidim and Mount Sinai, encouraging the eye to travel from one place to the next.

The Hebrew words “Ka’asher yachanu, ken yisa’u” - “As they camp, so shall they journey” express the central idea of movement, order and a people learning how to travel together.

Fiery reds, burnt oranges, warm cream and sand tones create the feeling of desert heat. Dark and white lines separate the stages and draw attention to names, symbols and the route.

The destination is not simply escape from Egypt. It is Mount Sinai, where freedom receives direction through Torah and covenant.

A route through the wilderness, preserved as a stained-glass journey of fire, light and memory.
