The story behind the artwork

Benjamin · A story shaped by light

The Benjamin stained-glass work changes with the light throughout the day. Its color and symbol speak of loyalty, strength, and a deep bond to home, allowing the story to become part of the room itself.

A wolf strides across a richly colored field, bringing Jacob’s words, “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf” (Genesis 49:27), into visual form. Architecture, arches, and intricate patterns are woven into the animal’s silhouette, inviting a closer look at the tribe’s connection to the Land of Israel. The shift from purple and red to turquoise and green brings energy and movement. The palette is interpreted artistically rather than presented as a historically documented tribal color. The Land of Israel is a shared motif throughout the Tribes collection. The stained-glass palette is an artistic choice, not the colors of the High Priest’s breastplate.
