Issachar
Issachar · A story shaped by light
The Issachar stained-glass work changes with the light throughout the day. Its color and symbol speak of light, time, and wisdom that guides the way, allowing the story to become part of the room itself.
Golden light surrounds an upright architectural form and ornate foliage, with a motif reminiscent of a menorah. In Jewish tradition, Issachar is closely associated with Torah study; Jacob’s biblical blessing also depicts him as a strong donkey (Genesis 49:14–15). Warm yellow and amber amplify the delicacy of the white linework. The central structure should be identified with the artist before giving it a more specific biblical name. The Land of Israel is a shared motif throughout the Tribes collection. The stained-glass palette is an artistic choice, not the colors of the High Priest’s breastplate.
