The story behind the artwork

Zebulun · A story shaped by light

The Zebulun stained-glass work changes with the light throughout the day. Its color and symbol speak of journey, horizon, and connection between worlds, allowing the story to become part of the room itself.

A ship, waves, and a lighthouse appear within a sweeping emblem against sea-green and turquoise. The image interprets Jacob’s blessing: “Zebulun shall dwell at the shore of the sea … a haven for ships” (Genesis 49:13). Sails and rhythmic lines suggest trade, travel, and encounters across the water. The marine palette reinforces the verse; the lighthouse is a modern artistic addition rather than an object named in the biblical text. The Land of Israel is a shared motif throughout the Tribes collection. The stained-glass palette is an artistic choice, not the colors of the High Priest’s breastplate.
